Obituary for Alice Louise Moss
Mrs. Alice Louise (Stubbs) Moss of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born September 8, 1932, in Jackson County, the daughter of Clarence and Grace (Bearden) Stubbs.
Mrs. Moss was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ and spent her years as a homemaker. During her stay at The Blossoms, Mrs. Moss loved to play bingo and was even sometimes called the Bingo Queen. She also enjoyed attending auctions and yard sales and above all, she loved to spend time with her family and to cook for them during the holidays.
Mrs. Moss is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dee Moss; one son, Roger Dale Moss; her parents; and one brother, Elbert “Mutt” Smalley.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Moss and Ricky Moss, both of Newport; two daughters, Shirley Campbell and husband, Emmitt, of Grubbs and Glenda Birdsong and husband, Roger, of Newport; thirteen grandchildren, Timmy Moss, Dale Moss, Kristie Koehler, Michael Moss, Steve Birdsong, Anthony Moss, Billy Joe Moss, Amber Barker, Zachary Campbell, Daniel Moss, Ryan Birdsong, Hayden Moss, and Robert Moss; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Balch-Johnston Cemetery, with Mr. Emmitt Campbell officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday, 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
