Obituary for Brouce Holden, Jr.
Mr. Brouce Holden, Jr., of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on April 5, 2023, while visiting his brother, in Freeport, Florida. He was born September 14, 1948 in Little Rock, the son of Brouce “Pete” Holden, Sr., and Dorothy (Davis) Holden.
Mr. Holden earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas, and was a proud local landowner in the Jackson County area. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, having a love of all types of athletic events. Mr. Holden was known for always having a smile on his face. He never met a stranger and would speak to anyone he passed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brouce “Pete” Holden, III; one brother, Jerry Brouce Holden; and his parents, Brouce “Pete” and Dorothy Holden.
Mr. Holden is survived by one daughter, Melissa Holden Brown and husband, Michael of Austin, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Erica Taylor; two grandchildren, Devin Holden and wife, Danielle, and Tyler Clark; one great-grandchild, Scarlett Holden; one brother, Jim Reid Holden of Freeport, Florida; a special person in his life, Trevor Holden; other relatives, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Funeral Home, Friday, April 14th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kellie Giese officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Conner, Jr., John Conner, III, Trevor Holden, Jim Reid Holden, Matt Nicholson, and Frankie Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Junior Baker and Billy Moore.
