Calvin David  Barker
Mr. Calvin David Barker of Weldon, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born July 26, 1944 in Jackson County, the son of Robert P. Barker and Elsie Inez (Welty) Hendrix.
Mr. Barker was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and collecting knives. His passion was having the best looking garden, with the straightest rows. People came from all over to buy his produce.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Pierce and Janie Sue Barker; and his parents.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra L. (Brueske) Barker of the home; four daughters, Kathy Odom and husband, Mike, of Diaz, Karen Metzger and husband, Wayne, of Newport, Lorrie Tubbs and husband, John of Tuckerman, and Christy Beshears and husband, David of Tuckerman; one step-son, Curtis Johnson of Oakaloosa, Kansas; three brothers, William Barker and wife, Judy of Newport, Kenneth Barker of Brownsville, Texas, and Jimmy P. Barker of Harrisburg; two sisters, Dovie Howard of Midway, and Minnie Moore and husband, Bobby, of Newport; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Interment will follow at White Lake Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Moldan, Bobby Moldan, Michael Hearton, Scottie Tooley, Landon Herman, Dennis Conway, Greg Wagster, and Brody Keagan. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Vest, Knighten Starnes, and Brady Toddy.
