Claudia Jean Clement Mathews, age 67, of Harrisburg, Arkansas went to her Heavenly Home on January 1, 2021. She was born to Claude Clement Jr. and the late Martha DuPriest Clement on January 4, 1953. She married Allen Mathews on June 8, 1975. Together they had two children, Christopher Mathews of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Casey Kocher Howton (Daniel) of Harrisburg, Arkansas. Claudia was blessed with grandchildren: Kye Emma Kocher, Havanna Shirley Kocher, Adalen Claudia Kocher, and Rylan Howton. She is survived by her father, husband, children, grandchildren, and brother, Steven Clement (Clara) of Parkdale, Arkansas, sister, Cheryl Neelon of Jonesboro, Arkansas, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Claudia was the Circuit Clerk of Poinsett County for 17 years. Since retirement in December 2014, Claudia has spent much of her time enjoying her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her backyard and deck at the lake were her favorite places to be with family and friends. Her favorite “book” was Facebook, where she was able to keep up with friends and family. She made sure that her girls had what they needed; she loved shopping for them. Claudia had a bold personality and made a connection with most everyone she met. Claudia will be remembered by many for her generous heart and well known phrase-“We’re just laughin!” Claudia was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
