Obituary for Dale Clements

Dale Clements
Dale Edward Clements departed this life in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the age of 88.

He was born March 26, 1934 at Bell City, Missouri, the son of Homer Washington Clements and Lucille Darnell Clements.

Dale graduated from Bell City High School in 1952. Following graduation, he moved to St. Louis. It was there that he met Miss Phyllis June Heatherly while she was working as a waitress at her Mother's restaurant, The Chili House. After much persuasion, the couple married on June 11, 1955. Together, they made their home in St. Louis, raised two daughters, while both working hard to make a good life for their family. Later, they made their home in Dallas to be closer to their daughters.

Dale worked as a salesman at Glendale Chrysler, Plymouth, and Jeep Dealership for over 40 years. He was well known for his tremendous work ethic, and for being "one hell of a salesman."

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and attended his last game, just a couple of weeks ago, with Jimmy and Shirley Heatherly – who loved to take him on road trips. Dale had all of the Cardinal stats past and present committed to memory.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dale loved his family beyond measure. He was kind, loyal, and generous. Dale will forever be remembered for his love and devotion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, his parents, and two brothers in law, Richard "Dickie" Heatherly and Bobby Heatherly.

Dale is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Clements Wool and Joni Clements Watson, both of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Phillip Wool and wife, Claudia, Joshua Wool and wife, Ann, Victoria Watson, Taylor Watson, and Olivia Watson; and four great-grandchildren, Arel, Sammy, Ada, and Benjamin Wool. Also surviving is one sister, Doretta King and husband, Junior, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; brother in law and sister in law, Jim and Shirley Heatherly of Newport, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and a lifetime of friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10 am to 11 am with service to follow at 11 am at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Remmel-McCall Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Taylor Watson, Phillip Wool, Joshua Wool, Cledy Pollard, and Russ Fletcher.

Memorials may be made to the T.Boone Pickens Inpatient Center at Faith Hospice, 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas, TX 75251 or online at https://www.faithpreshospice.org.
