Obituary for Dan Shown
Mr. Dan Thomas Shown, 79, of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at his home. He was born June 28, 1942 at Marked Tree, Arkansas, the son of Fay Nicholas and Bessie Mae (McKinney) Shown.
Mr. Shown was a United States Army veteran, who enjoyed fishing. He loved to joke around with people. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
Mr. Shown was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Sharon McNulty Shown; one daughter, Connie Brock; thirteen brothers and sisters; and his parents.
He is survived by one son, Charles Duane Shown and wife, Gwen, of Swifton; two daughters, Debbie Parks and husband, John of Swifton, and Sharon Wood of Swifton; a special friend, Sherry Robinson; fourteen grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are Saturday, February 5, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Rick Midgett officiating. Interment will follow at Arnold Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bobby Shown, Cody Cole, Tyler Shown, Disney Chatman, Christopher Chatman, and Luke Risner. His grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren are honorary pallbearers.
