Obituary for Daniel Larkin Webster

Daniel Larkin  Webster
Mr. Daniel Larkin Webster, 97, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born November 1, 1923 in Chandler, Oklahoma the son of John Henry and Mary Jane (Chandler) Webster. Daniel married Miss Ruth Sanders on June 23, 1972 and they enjoyed forty-five years of marriage before her death on September 17, 2017. His parents preceded him in death, also one son, John Webster, two brothers: Joseph Webster and Everett George Webster.
Daniel is a member of the Latter Day Saints Church, a member of Masonic Lodge #184, and he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Daniel served in the U. S. Navy for 22 years. In an impressive ceremony in 2010 Commander William D. Spiegel, skipper of VAH-1, presented the “Bronze Star Medal” to Chief Daniel Webster. The “Bronze Star” is awarded to a person who “while serving in any capacity in the U. S. Armed Forces, distinguishes himself by heroism or meritorious achievement or services, in connection with military or naval operations against the enemy. Other awards that were presented to Chief Webster were: Victory Medal WW11, Army of Occupation WW11, American Campaign, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, and American Defense.
He is survived by his son, Richard Webster of Greenfield, three daughter: Sue Alexander, Sherrie Brantley, and Tina Webster, two nephews: Terry Webster and Luke Webster, one Niece, Teresa Rich, several grandchildren, and expecting one great grandson in August, Silas Myles Webster-Beasley.
Memorial Graveside Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 29 at 11:00 A. M. at Wilson Cemetery. Mr. Terry Webster will be the speaker, Masonic Rites will be given by Lodge #184, and the Honor Guard from U. S. Navy will also be present. Arrangements are Jackson’s Funeral Home
