Mrs. Darlene (Becker) Martinez of Remmel departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the age of 70. She was born April 3, 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Leonard Becker.
Mrs. Martinez was a homemaker. Her hobbies included playing bingo, reading old Nancy Drew books, and crocheting. She will be remembered as “a ball of fire”.
Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Raymond Martinez; one brother, Don Becker; one sister, Joanie Becker; her father and her stepmother, Julia Becker.
She is survived by two sons, Graig Martinez and Jeannie Burns of Remmel, and Michael Martinez and Cheryl Whitfield of Newport; six grandchildren, Angel Martinez, Christina Martinez, Chariti Leann Martinez, Michael Martinez, Jr., Zena Martinez, and Elizabeth McLurg; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Remmel-McCall Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Cooper officiating.
Those honored to serve, as pallbearers will be Michael Martinez, Sr., Michael Martinez, Jr., Dean Miller, Michael Lewellyn, Shawn Bufford, and Sonny Bufford.
