Obituary for Donald L Jones

Donald L  Jones
Donald L. Jones, 73 of Harrisburg, departed this life Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born April 3, 1949 in Harrisburg, the son of Lovick Jones Sr. and Emma (Bell) Jones.

Donald graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1968. After graduating he attended Arkansas State University and served in the Arkansas National Guard. He became a farmer of rice, soybeans, and catfish. Over the years his career evolved into varied interests, including land development, construction and retail business. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and a long-time member of the Earl Wells Hunting Club. He especially enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and fishing. Donald was always ready for a fish fry or crawfish boil with some of his many friends. He had a great love for his son and family. Nothing could brighten his day more than the times he spent with his granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lovick Jones, Sr. and Emma (Bell) Jones, three brothers, Leon Jones, Lovick Jones, Jr. and Tommy Jones, and six sisters, Catherine Jones, Dorthy Pipes, Geneva Dunn, Fannie Wigginton, Laverne Webb, and Mary Cole.

He is survived by one son, Mitchell Jones, of Jonesboro, and two granddaughters, Khalan Jones, of Harrisburg and Kalleigh Jones, of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jackson's Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
