Harrison Neblett "Neb"  Thomas
Harrison Neblett “Neb” Thomas of Harrisburg departed this life to live eternally with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 7, 2020, at the age 78. He was born September 21, 1942 in Forrest City Arkansas the son of William Davis “W. D.” Thomas Sr. and Dora (Neblett) Thomas. He was of the Methodist faith.

After graduating from Harrisburg High School in 1960, Neb attended Arkansas State University and there received a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture in 1964. Neb was a lifelong farmer, a real estate broker and appraiser, and in his later years established and operated duck-hunting clubs. He loved horses and was an accomplished horseman. He also enjoyed raising cattle. He was a former member of the Harrisburg School Board, the Methodist Men, and the Poinsett County Farmers Supply Association.

In addition to his parents, Neb was preceded in death by one daughter, Andrea (Thomas) Muri Essary. Neb is survived by one daughter, Lee Ellen (Thomas) Stepka and husband Andy of Little Rock, two brothers: William Davis Thomas Jr. of El Paso, Texas and George Kelly Thomas of Jonesboro, Arkansas, one sister, Martha (Thomas) Carlock and husband James of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and five grandchildren. He also leaves his beloved and faithful companion, his dog, Charlie.

Neb was a humble and quiet man who tried to live a simple and honorable life. He strove to treat others with kindness, dignity, and respect. Neb was an avid student of the American West and greatly admired cowboys. He tried to follow their example of working hard, living simply, and respecting the wonder of God’s creation.

There will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest memorial donations be given in Neb’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
