Ian James Hagerty was born January 12, 2005 in Decatur, and passed away suddenly, a victim of gun violence, on November 27, 2022.

He had a great love of sports as a swimmer and basketball player. He loved teamwork and competition. He will be remembered as a loving child, and a good friend with an impish grin and a wonderful sense of humor. His greatest joy came early this fall with the birth of his son, Henry.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Susan B. McDonald, and his paternal grandfather, Raymond James Hagerty.

He is survived by his son, Henry; his mother Elisabeth Elliott McDonald; his father Daniel Hagerty; his maternal grandfather, C. Phillip McDonald; his paternal grandmother, Donna Hagerty; along with his Aunts and Uncles, Brad and Diane McDonald, Mitchell and Jo Hagerty, Pat and Simone Hagerty, and his beloved, Hannah.

Ian’s ashes will be interred at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas, at a later date.
