Obituary for Irene Evans
Mrs. Irene (Simons) Evans of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the age of 97. She was born December 3, 1923 at Fitzhugh, Arkansas, the daughter of Joe and Martha Ellis (Kirkpatrick) Simons.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker, and an excellent cook, who enjoyed needlework, crochet, embroidery, and quilting. She was very close to her family, and loved them all dearly.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Holden Avenue Church of Christ; later attending Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clark "Sie" Evans; her parents; one brother, Gene Boone; and one sister, Tommie Brinsfield.
Mrs. Evans is survived by one sister, Catholene Reeve of Jonesboro; special nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 12:00 until 12:45 p.m.
