Jack  Benson
Mr. Jack Benson of Jonesboro, formerly of Swifton, departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the age of 75. He was born May 23, 1945 in Jackson County, the son of Claud and Dollie (Watson) Benson.
On August 26, 1964, Mr. Jack Benson was married to Miss Alma Jean Kinder. They spent 32 years together, raising their daughters, and building a life in Swifton. Mr. Benson was owner of Jack’s Gulf Station for many years, and later retired from Arkansas Glass in Jonesboro. As a young man, Mr. Benson drag raced at George Ray’s Race Track in Paragould. He loved playing his guitar, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Alma Jean Benson; one brother, Andrew Benson; two sisters Arwanda Hill and Lorene McGee; and his parents.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Shawnda Nunn and husband, Rick, of Paragould, and Tronda Watkins and husband, Kent, of Jonesboro; three sisters, Aretta Goodman of Batesville, Janet Hill and husband, Nick, of Dallas, Texas, and Judy Page and husband, Robert, of Auvergne; seven grandchildren, Jaclyn Reider and husband, Mark, of Bella Vista, Lindsay Davidson of Jonesboro, Andy Watkins and wife, Skyler, of Jonesboro, Blake Nunn and wife, Shayna, of Paragould, Meghan McCord and husband, Eric, of Paragould, Amber Nunn of Paragould, and Bradlee Nunn and wife, Mikyla, of Jonesboro; twelve great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Linda Kinder of Swifton; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside service is 10:00 a.m. Friday at Swifton Cemetery with Bro. Mark Duncan officiating. Friends may visit at the graveside, Friday 9:30 a.m. until service time.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
