Obituary for Jackie Owen Gray

Jackie Owen  Gray

Jackie Owen Gray departed this life on March 16, 2022 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born April 26, 1951, the son of J.O. and Peggy Gray, who both preceded him in death.
Jack was a 1969 graduate of Swifton high School, and a member of Swifton First Baptist Church. He started his first job at age 12, where he had to stand on a milk crate to bag groceries. He proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Navy.
Jack worked as a jailer for Jackson County, and was employed by numerous factories, convenience Stores, and nursing homes, before becoming disabled in 2007. He enjoyed spending time with his family, eating pecan pie and ice cream, watching John Wayne westerns, and listening to George Jones.
Jack is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary (Moore) Gray; one daughter, Kathy (Gray) Weaver and husband, Jimmy of Swifton; one granddaughter, Megan Weaver and fiancé, Chris of Trumann; three step-children, Tama (Kenny) Page of Mountainburg, Dianne (Chris) Shepard of Lester, and Junior Durbin of Imboden; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Renee, Jessica, Jennifer, Ashley, Timmy, Dakota, Salena, and Ryan; twelve great-grandchildren; many other family members and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home, Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial services will follow at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Nathan Bentz, and Mr. Chris Shepard officiating.
