Obituary for Jessie C. Fitzgerald

Jessie C.  Fitzgerald
Mr. Jessie C. Fitzgerald, 81, of Harrisburg departed this life Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home on Cromwell Lane. He was born February 4, 1939 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas the son of Johny and Eithel Burnett Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gertrude Fitzgerald in 2014, one son, Clyde Fitzgerald, one daughter, Ann Fitzgerald McKay, three brothers: Odell, Hershel, and Charles Fitzgerald, three sisters: Emma West, Eithel Fitzgerald, and Ruby Camper, one great-granddaughter, Summer Leigh Ann Ray. Jessie married Gertrude McKellar on March 29, 1958 and they enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage before her passing. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Harrisburg and served his Lord in many positions in the church. Jessie enjoyed working on vehicles, listening to music and attending church. Jessie was a mechanic by trade and a “jack of all trades” his family says. He is survived by one son, Roy Leon Fitzgerald of Harrisburg, three brothers: Junior Fitzgerald, Wayne Fitzgerald, and Orvil Fitzgerald all of Harrisburg, two sisters: Linda Dobbins of Harrisburg and Lou Dobbins of Cherry Valley, four grand children: Tommy, Josh, Scotty, and Valerie, nine great-grandchildren: Caden, Kylee, Trenton, Kyle, Gavin, Jamie, Dejah, Melina, and Emillo, a host of friends and a loving church family! Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2021 @ Jackson’s Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:45 and the Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 P. M. at Holly Springs Cemetery. Bro. James Hewitt will conduct the service. These men will be honored to serve as Active Pallbearers: Tommy Fitzgerald, Josh Fitzgerald, Scotty Fitzgerald, Terry Fitzgerald, Jonathan Webb, and Buddy McKellar.
