Mr. Jimmy Wells of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the age of 76. He was born February 23, 1944 in Tuckerman, the son of Joe and Dorothy (Brown) Wells.
Mr. Wells was a retired farm worker, and attended Tuckerman Family Worship Center. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Wells was also gifted at carpentry, and loved sewing and selling blankets.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his special friend, Shirley Mitchell Stone; and three brothers, Bill Wells, Tommy Wells, and Timmy Wells.
Mr. Wells is survived by four brothers, Sam Wells of Jonesboro, Bob Wells of Tuckerman, Leslie Wells of Tennessee, and Sidney Wells of Jacksonport; three sisters, Donna Brown of Tuckerman, Mary Midgett of Tuckerman, and Marilyn Baugh of Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday, 4:00-5:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Cheshier Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required for all visitation and funeral services. We also ask that you maintain social distancing.
