Obituary for Kate Faulkner (Smith)

Kate Faulkner (Smith)
Mrs. Kate (Smith) Faulkner, 96, of Harrisburg, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Bay Village, Arkansas. She had just celebrated her 96th birthday being born February 15, 1925 in Humbolt, Tennessee the daughter of Grady and Ruby (Pickard) Smith. Her parents preceded her in death and her husband, Mr. J. W. Faulkner, two sisters: Eva M. Condra and Lorene Faulkner, one grandson, Bradley Lynn Faulkner, and Son-in-Law, Jackey Ray Wright. Kate married J. W. on July 13, 1943 and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before his passing on August 3, 2007. She has been a member of the Valley View Baptist Church for seventy-three years. She enjoyed going to church, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. A tribute was written for Kate by one of her grandchildren. “Granny Kate loved the Lord, her family, her friends, doing for others, and ice cream. She loved to go, anywhere, anytime. I never heard her speak an unkind word, ever. She was humble, quiet, ladylike, Godly, generous, and taught us all to be kind through her actions. She loved her birthday and was blessed to turn 96 Monday. She cooked a full course meal everyday on the farm for anyone that would join her table and her table was open to all. She kept a garden as big as she could plant until just a few years ago. She never missed church or an opportunity to minister. She was a visitor. She took herself to others to let them know they were important. She kept her nails polished Revlon Red every day of my life. She was everything good and wholesome and I’m going to miss her fiercely. My Daddy checked on her daily and my Aunt Diane cared for her every need. I’m confident she is walking the streets of gold.” Kate is survived by one son, Ricky (Vicki) Faulkner of Harrisburg, one daughter, Diane Wright of Bay Village, four grandchildren: Richard Faulkner, Marti Peel, Angela Brown, and Tracie Milholland, six great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be at Jackson’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 @ 10:00 A. M. with Bro. Larry Loggins conducting the service. These men are honored to serve as active pallbearers: Butch Roberts, Ricky Witt, Bill Bass, Junior Criner, Jerry Miller, and Dustin Faulkner. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time.
