Obituary for Kathy Brann

Kathy  Brann
Kathleen Johnson Brann of Arlington, Texas passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023.
Kathy was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 13, 1955 to Jessie Lee Williams Johnson and Dean P. Johnson. After graduating from Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park in 1973, Kathy went on to attend and graduate from Kansas University and the KU Physical Therapy School at the KU School of Medicine with a BS in Physical Therapy 1976.
In 1977, Kathy married the love of her life, Ben S. Brann, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Overland Park, Kansas.
Kathy was a physical therapist, master seamstress, homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She was a member and past president of the Quilters Guild of Arlington as well as a member of the Mensa Society.
Kathy’s hobbies included sewing, quilting, and costuming for school plays and for Ballet Arlington. She also enjoyed making wedding dresses and restoring antique wedding dresses. Kathy traveled the world to see history and experience new places. At home Kathy loved and cared for rescued and special needs labradors. She also tutored high school students in math, English and Shakespeare.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Dean P Johnson and Jessie Lee Williams Johnson, father-in-law, Ben S. Brann, III, and mother-in-law, Elwanda McNutt Brann.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ben S. Brann, IV of Arlington, Texas; son, Benjamin S. Brann, V and Christy Hupfer of East Hampton CT; daughter, Meghan Brann Krouse and husband, Matt Krouse, of Evans, Georgia; four granddaughters: Adrianna, Caroline, Jacqueline, and Natalie Krouse; sister, Cynthia Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Sheryl Brann of Lawrence, Kansas. She is also survived by Jack and Kota, her rescue labradors.
