Obituary for Lavida Bolden

Lavida  Bolden

Mrs. Lavida OV (Stevens) Bolden, of Concord, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born August 12, 1930 in Newport, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Lou Esther (Gains) Stevens.
Mrs. Bolden was a homemaker, who took great pride in taking care of her family. She was a great mom, who loved her family. She especially enjoyed preparing huge meals for family gatherings, and hosted all holidays at her home. Mrs. Bolden enjoyed gardening and mowing her yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Durward Ernest Bolden, Sr.; two sons, Rod D. Bolden and Lonnie Joe Bolden; sixteen brothers and sisters; and her parents.
Mrs. Bolden is survived by one son, Durward Ernest Bolden, Jr., and wife, Shaele of Concord; one daughter, Patricia Pool and husband, Rick of Southside; seven grandchildren, Richard Brewer, III, Jonathan Brewer, Kristopher Thompson, Jaci Hill, Zackory Bolden, Patric Bolden, and Margie Garcia; thirteen great-grandchildren, Aurora Chapman, Sophi Brewer, Lilly Brewer, Lindsey Brewer, Lia Brewer, Josie Garcia, Isabell Thompson, Savannah Thompson, Summer Thompson, Antonia Alvarez, Kalista Alvarez, Max Bolden, and Shelley Bolden; one great-great grandchild, Grayson Hoolahan; and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Balch-Johnston Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, noon until service.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ricky Pool, David Alvarez, Zachory Bolden, Antonio Alvarez, Michael Smith, Robin Cason, and Nicholas Cole. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Bolden and Virgil Bolden.
