Obituary for Mary Braden

Mary Braden

Ms. Mary Alyce Braden of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the age of 54. She was born June 30, 1966, in Helena, Arkansas.

Mary was a 1984 graduate of Newport High School. She earned a cosmetologist license, and began her career in 1987. Over the years, Mary built a loyal clientele, and was currently working at the Jagged Edge Salon in Jonesboro.

Mary loved life. When not working, Mary enjoyed fishing, traveling, and especially playing with her nieces and nephews. Mary was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She loved her church family and her time worshipping with them.

Mary loved big. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful, genuine smile and heartfelt hugs for everyone she met. And, if she really liked you, you would get a loving kiss on the cheek.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, William M. Braden and her step-father, whom she loved very much, John Bedwell.

She is survived by her mother, Eva (Pena) Bedwell of Amagon; four sisters, Denise Higgins of Wynne, Lillie Davis of South Haven, Mississippi, Vera Taylor of Memphis, and Malena Ferguson of Paragould; three brothers, Brian Bedwell of Amagon, Bill Braden of Jonesboro, and Brad Braden of South Haven, Mississippi; several nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
