Nellie “Virginia” Cook Kelso, 83, of Germantown, TN departed this life Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Methodist Hospital in Germantown. She was born November 7, 1937 in Harrisburg, Arkansas the daughter of James Homer and Pauline Tillery George. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Johnny, Donald, Kenneth, and Robert George, two sisters: Frances Holt Dunn and Jimmie Lou “Gail” Garcia. Survivors include her children: Terri Jo (Lynn) Mitchusson of Oakland, TN, Sarge (Kelley) Cook of Rockport, TX, and Barry Shane Cook of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Blake (Carly) Mitchusson of Town & Country, MO, Chase (Bethany) Mitchusson, PHD of Baton Rouge, LA, Shea Morgan Cook of Jonesboro, AR, Joshua Shane Cook of Los Angeles, CA, Michelle (Eric) Gremard of Jonesboro, AR, Kelli Brianne (Benjamin) Gallagher of Collierville, TN, Hunter Arnold of Jonesboro, AR, Cayla (Matt) Likins of Corbin, KY, Hannah Croley of Memphis, TN. Survivors also include siblings: James Edward George of Jonesboeo and Doris Cavelli of Harrisburg. She was also blessed with great grandchildren: Brody Mitchusson, Brooklyn Turnage, Cason and Mollie Gremard, along with one great-great-grandchild, Anna Claire Osborne. She is also survived by a loving host of nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly. Ma, Mom, Virginia, Aunt Sang whatever she was to anyone she was loved by all. She was a helper, a giver, and a hard worker for most of her life. She is retired from Lamberts Café in Sikeston, MO where she was a waitress and manager for eighteen years. She loved being a waitress, she never met a stranger and boy was she a talker. She can tell you some stories, whether you really wanted to hear them or not. She will be deeply missed but she will always be in our hearts. We love you. Until we meet again rest easy and pain free. Visitation will Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12:00 until service time at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 P. M. and interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park. Arrangements are Jackson’s Funeral Home.
