Obituary for Ralph Jones

Ralph  Jones
Mr. Ralph Jones of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on December 25, 2020, at the age of 83. He was born January 11, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Samuel Alex and Agnes Irene (Haley) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a United States Army veteran, serving his country from July 12, 1956 to July 11, 1958. On July 14, 1958, Mr. Ralph Jones married Miss Jean Reed, and together they spent the next 62 years building a life and raising their family.
Mr. Jones enjoyed camping and wood working. He was a talented carpenter. Mr. Jones enjoyed making people laugh, and loved a good joke. He was known for his good heart and kind spirit. Most importantly, he loved his wife and family with all his heart. Mr. Jones was a member of Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Agnes Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by the love of his life, Jean (Reed) Jones of the home; one son, Tony Jones and wife, Sherry, of Tuckerman; one daughter, Sherry Wood and husband, Delos, of Benton; two sisters, Debby Bennett of Cabot, and Rosemarie Smith of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Jared Wood and wife, Erin, Cody Sharp and wife, Katye, and Amanda Bryant and husband, Jonathan; four great-grandchildren, Jayce Bryant, Jiles Bryant, Cooper Sharp, and Campbell Sharp; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Bro. Vance Penn officiating.
