Obituary for Shirley Wilson

Shirley  Wilson
Mrs. Shirley Mae (Jones) Wilson of Jonesboro departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born January 14, 1944, in Swifton, the daughter of Gus Jones and Wanda Lee (Crawford) Pierce.
Mrs. Wilson was a high school graduate of Swifton High School and a member of Swifton Church of Christ. She worked as the one of the only female crane operators for the steel mill and went on to own and waitress at her restaurant. Mrs. Wilson liked to play pool and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her husband, William Woodrow Wilson; one daughter, Emmalee Fortenberry; her parents; her grandparents who raised her; one brother, Jerry Jones; and one half-sister, Loretta Jones Seanard.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Angela Lindley and husband, Jeremy, of Jonesboro, and Roxanna Tims and fiancé, Marvin Dunn, of Lynn; her great grandchildren, Lisa Goza, Tyler Mitchell, Paige Mitchell, Gracie Mitchell, Avarie Dunn, and Kaitlin Lindley; her great-great grandchildren, Aria, Zoey, Brynlee, Kayden, Karter, Keen, and Harper; one half brother, Roy “Junior” Jones, of Ash Flat; nephew, Jerry Jones; and niece, Mary Ellen O’Banion.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Swifton Cemetery, with Bro. David Burgess officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Lindley, Tyler Mitchell, Jerry Jones, Michael Lucas, Edward Jarrett, Matthew Jarrett, Lance Tucker, and Marvin Dunn.
