Obituary for Ted Gibson

Ted Gibson
Mr. Ted Gibson of Quitman, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the age of 78. He was born January 29, 1944 in Little Rock, the son of Russell and Emogene (Wherry) Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a US Navy veteran, and a devoted member of Foothills Bible Church at Quitman. He had a servant’s heart, and gave generously to support an orphanage in Nepal. His heart was with the children, and he loved to proclaim the gospel. Mr. Gibson also donated for missions to Burma/Myanmar.
From working as a roadie for Blue Oyster Cult, to spending time as an auctioneer and a mortician, Mr. Gibson experienced a myriad of careers, retiring from the railroad after 34 years of service.
He was an avid reader, who spread the joy of the written word with his family and friends by gifting them books for every occasion. Mr. Gibson had a great sense of humor, and always had a story to share. He was a brother, an uncle, and to so many others, a wonderful friend.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Emogene Gibson.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda Mitchell and husband, Tommy of Bryant and Mary Jane Davis of Little Rock; one niece, Michelle Ives and husband, Randy of Alexander; one great-niece, Kaitlyn Fox and husband, Chase of Alexander; several cousins; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Palestine/Pearson Cemetery with Mr. John McCarty officiating.
