Obituary for Tom Critcher

Tom  Critcher
Mr. Tommy D. Critcher of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life at his home on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the age of 72. He was born May 5, 1950 in Greenbrier, Arkansas, the son of Joseph Daniel Critcher and Dorothy (Ragains) Critcher. Tommy grew up in Grubbs among the large, loving Critcher family.

He moved to Medford, Oregon where he worked in maintenance at the Knife River Corporation for many years. Tommy had a natural talent for repairing and understanding machinery. He retired in 2016 and moved home to Arkansas to be close to his daughter, grandchildren, and family.

Tommy was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1971 to 1977.

He was a sportsman, enjoying golfing and fishing, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Tommy could fix anything and was always willing to help anyone when the need arose. He will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor. Tommy could tell jokes could tell the same joke over and over, yet they were still so funny. He was loved by many and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His greatest love was his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Mr. Critcher was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Anschultz.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Critcher of Tuckerman; two grandchildren, Madison Mahan and Jason Robinson; three brothers, Jerry Critcher and wife, Debbie, of Newark, Jack Critcher and wife, Vickie, of Maumelle, and Michael Critcher and wife, Terri, of Grubbs; five sisters, Linda Fuel of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jo Ellen Williams and husband, Terry, of Clarkesville, Donna Gann of Ventress, Louisiana, Kathy Ray of Newport, and Martha Brashers and husband, J.B., of Charlotte; companion, Shirley Hawk of the home; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers are Jason Robinson, Mike Allen, Aaron Hurst, Lee Binkley, Keith Kinard, and his nephews.
