Obituary for Tommy Montgomery

Tommy  Montgomery
Mr. Tommy Montgomery of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born April 30, 1941, in Alicia, the son of Raymond and Earsel Mae (Gibbs) Montgomery.

Mr. Montgomery was a graduate of Newport High School and an Arkansas National Guard veteran. He was a hard-working, dedicated employee of George Kell Motors in Newport, where he worked as a Sales Consultant for 58 years.

Mr. Montgomery loved to barbeque and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and raising cattle. He had an unrivaled work ethic, working from dusk to dawn.

Mr. Montgomery loved his family, calling them daily to ask if they needed anything of him. He was always willing to help in any way he could.

Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Ruby Faye Reynolds.

He is survived by his children, Blake Montgomery and wife, Dawn, of McHenry, Mississippi, and Tammy Montgomery Mack and husband, Billy, of Batesville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Brenna Lindsey and husband, Shea of Bearden, Arkansas, Ryan McNeil and wife, Amanda of Newark, Clay Mack of Charlotte, Colton Montgomery of Tupelo, Abby McNeil of Sulphur Rock, Sam Mack of Paragould, and Tyler Montgomery of McHenry, Mississippi; six great-grandchildren, Jaylon, Jace, Ethan, Sydnee, Adilyn, and Easton; his partner, Mary Jane Malone; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, April 20, 2023, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will be private.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Sam Mack, Jace McNeil, Tyler Montgomery, Colton Montgomery, Jaylon Hill, and Ethan Hill. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Anselmi, Michael Honey, and Tommy “Tomcat” Berry.
