Obituary for Verita Darmstaedter

Mrs. Verita Joyce (Pruett) Darmstaedter of Monroe, Louisiana, formerly of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born January 22, 1942, in Boydsville, Arkansas, the daughter of John H. and Gertrue (Shannon) Pruett.
Mrs. Darmstaedter was retired from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, where she had worked as a secretary. She was a longtime member of the Magness Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Darmstaedter was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James “Jim” Darmstaedter; her sister, Judy Bolton; one sister-in-law, Chris Pruett; and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, James Gregory Darmstaedter, and wife, Marianne, of Florida, Jerry Lee Darmstaedter, and wife, Linda, of North Carolina, and John Alexander Darmstaedter, and wife, Lyn, of Sterlington, Louisiana; one daughter, Penny LaRaye Dickey, and husband, Dale, of Batesville, Arkansas; one brother, Tom Pruett of Missouri; her brother-in-law, Jack Darmstedter and wife, Judy, of Memphis, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Cindy Laab of Missouri; her brother-in-law, Dale Bolton of Missiouri; one aunt, Patsy Jones of Paragould; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Blue Springs Cemetery, with Bro. David Burgess officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Darmstaedter II, Darrien Cook, Connor Cook, Donald Barker, Travis Stuart, and Jack Darmstaedter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association at alz.org Arrangements by Jackson’s Newark Funeral Home.
