Virginia Lucille  Weeks
Mrs. Virginia Lucille Pender Weeks, 84 departed this life on January 8, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on March 14, 1938 in Harrisburg, Arkansas the daughter of Clarence Pender Sr. and Bertha Minton Pender. Virginia married Guy Weeks in 1956. They enjoyed 47 years together making their home in Harrisburg where Virginia remained until recently moving to Jonesboro. Virginia was a homemaker. She loved serving her community and never met a stranger. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was known for sharing her delicious pies and prize-winning pickles. Virginia was an active member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg for over sixty years. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers: Carley Pender, Charlie Pender, and Clarence Pender Jr., and a sister, Iseal Wheeler. She is survived by her children: Jeannie (Stan) O’Neil of Colleyville, Texas, Gene (Jill) Weeks of Paragould, and Bill (Deana) Weeks of Jonesboro, a brother, Buddy Wayne Pender of Coldwater, Mississippi, and a sister, Mary Harrison of Coldwater, Mississippi. She was the proud grandmother of Whitney (Matthew) Miller, Weston (Zoe) Weeks, David O’Neil, Kate O’Neil, and Aden Weeks. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11 from 12:30 pm ~ 2:00 pm at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Harrisburg with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers are: Leln Griffith, David Green, Michael Todd, Craig Stringer, Greg Cole, and Sam Sims.
