Telena   Davenport Woolsey
Mrs. Telena Alberta (Davenport) Woolsey, 92, of Memphis, Tennessee departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was born June 5, 1927, on the farm in Newport, Arkansas, where she grew up along with two sisters and two brothers. After high school, she moved to Memphis and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She retired from University of Tennessee, Department of Medicine - Rhematology.
Her love and care for her family, friends, and her GOD lives on. She was preceded in death by her mother, Telena Bengel Davenport; her sister, Ruby N. Davenport; a brother, Wes H. Davenport; and her daughter, Telena Kaye Foster Gutierrez. She is survived by a sister, Irene D. Major of Memphis; a brother, Nathan Elton Davenport of Batesville, Arkansas; and a daughter, Nancy Lynn Woolsey Wilburn of Memphis; and three grandchildren, Juan Carlos, Amanda Maria and David Diego Gutierrez; and one great-grandchildren, all of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held next to her mother, Telena Bengel Davenport's grave in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas, Thursday, January 30, 2020.
The family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC Donations, 332 N. Lauderdale Street, Memphis, Tennessee.
