Obituary for Betty Sue Tucker

Betty Sue Tucker
Heaven gained a very special angel on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Betty “MeMaw” Tucker, 85, of Newport, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord peacefully with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Newport, Arkansas on January 21, 1931, to Vernon and Margaret (Bleakley) Bogle.
Mrs. Tucker was a graduate of Newport High School, and spent many years working at Victor Metals and Van Dyke Furniture.
MeMaw Tucker, as she was affectionately known as to most people in Jackson County, had been the director at Jacobs Ladder for twenty-five years. She had also been the coordinator for Mother’s Day Out at the Methodist Church.
She touched and loved so many people in her precious life. She was best known for taking care of children. Mrs. Tucker loved her Coca-Cola, rocky road praline ice cream, and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks. She enjoyed watching horses and cows in the fields, gardening, and traveling.
Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Newport First Baptist Church, where she also kept the nursery. Her greatest love was her family and time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
MeMaw will be fondly remembered by the people of Newport for her devotion and love of the Lord, of children and her family.
Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Margaret Bogle; her husband of 42 years, Ray Tucker, Jr.; and one sister and husband, Peggy and Bobby Allison.
