Obituary for Mack Person
Mr. Mack Velvet Person, Jr., of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 66. He was born February 1, 1951, in Jackson County, the son of Mack Velvet Person, Sr., and Willene (Peel) Person.
Mr. Person retired in 2005 after working 18 years at American Lantern, followed by 7 years at Ever Corporation. He was a good hearted person who following his retirement, spent time driving the Meals on Wheels truck for Unity Hospital. Mr. Person was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Juanita Donaldson.
Mr. Person is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dana (Kelly) Person of the home; one daughter, Amanda Calemese of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Baxter Dukes of St. Charles, Missouri, and Claude Dukes, Jr., of Newport; three sisters, Veneta Adams, Aline Ridley, and Betty Jo Dukes, all of Los Angeles, California; his sister-in-law, Tura Graves of Fayetteville; one grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in New Hope Cemetery.
