Obituary for Josephine Vest

Josephine  Vest
Mrs. Josephine “Jo” (Brown) Vest of Jonesboro, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born December 30, 1929 in Corning, the daughter of John Richard and Emma (Reidt) Brown.
Mrs. Vest attended Corning High School. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Vest’s hobbies included playing bridge and shopping, especially for jewelry. Her grandchildren always said, “Gigi sparkles.” Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Holden Avenue Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Holden Avenue Caring Sisters.
Mrs. Vest was preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, W.C. “Dub” Vest; two grandchildren, Rex Allan Johns, Jr. and Ean Johns; one brother, Bobby Joe Brown; and one sister, Birdie Mae Galemore.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Johns and husband, Rex, Sr., of Jonesboro; one grandchild, Christian Jo Smiley and husband, Brian of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren, Cameryn Smiley and Morgan Smiley; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Ryan Wilson officiating. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Vest family will be serving as pallbearers.
