Obituary for Louise Carlton

Louise  Carlton
Mrs. Louise (Hodge) Carlton of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born September 24, 1943 in Tuckerman, the daughter of Cecil and Murtis (Webster) Hodge.
Mrs. Carlton was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved them endlessly, being a Nana was her greatest joy in life.
Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her husband, Don Carlton; her son, Donnie Carlton; four brothers, Don Hodge, Von Hodge, Jerry Bob Hodge, and Bill Hodge; four sisters, Betty Lewis, Shirley Joslin, Linda Mae Keen, and Infant Brenda Kay Hodge; and her parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Whitehead of Newport; four grandchildren, Tyler Whitehead and wife, Alex of Sheridan, Chloe Carlton of Newport, Allyson Carlton of Newport, and Valerie Roberts of Campbell Station; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday 2:00 p.m. until service. Funeral services will follow Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Eightmile Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Joslin, Jason Joslin, Rickey Joslin, Jimmy Mcelyea, Justin Mcelyea, and Michael Armor.
