Obituary for Martin Garrick

Martin  Garrick
Mr. Martin Edward Garrick, Sr., of Maple Springs, departed this life on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born March 12, 1937 in Fordyce, Arkansas, the son of Claiborne and Alice Virginia (Howe) Garrick.

Mr. Garrick graduated from Fordyce High School, and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Garrick worked for AT&T until his retirement, after which he was able to devote more time to his favorite activities. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. However, he will be remembered most as a kindhearted Southern gentleman, a loving husband, and a family man.

He was a member of the Oil Trough Church of Christ.

Mr. Garrick was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Ann (Metcalf) Garrick; two daughters, Tina Fruend and Pamela Grubb; two brothers, Bobby Garrick and Freddy Jo Garrick; one sister, Ann Batson; and his parents.

He is survived by three sons, Marty Garrick, and wife, Mona of Hot Springs, Rodney Brady and wife, Loraine of Oil Trough, and Terry Lee Brady and wife, Shirley of Maple Springs; two daughters, Nina Cornish of Malvern and Brenda Kay Thompson and husband, Jimmy of Little Rock; one-half brother, Randy Garrick of Little Rock; a sister-in-law, Billie Garrick of Pine Bluff; his step-mother, Joann Garrick of Little Rock; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at Oil Trough Church of Christ on Saturday, February 10, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oil Trough Church of Christ, with interment at Maple Springs Cemetery.
