Mary was a beloved member of Newport High School Class of 1982. Following high school, she attended Job Corp in McKinney, Texas. It was there that she met her future husband, Troy on September 14, 1982. Two and a half years later after completing Job Corp, the couple moved to New Jersey, near the Jackson family. A few years later, Mary and Troy made their forever home in Newport. Later, she began working in many homes, where her joyful and kind demeanor made her considered a special and dear friend especially in the homes of Ann and Ed Scoggins, Betsy and Tim Watson, Bettye and Bobby Newell, Pat and Jabez Jackson, Sue Ellen Burton, and Jan and Rhett Maris. Mary also worked regularly for many years at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and over the last few years she enjoyed helping at the church for special occasions.
Mary was a talented artist and she spent many hours sketching and painting. She also greatly enjoyed time spent outdoors gardening and could care for and make nearly any plant grow and flourish.

Mary was full of joy and laughter. Her greatest love was her family. She adored her parents and siblings. Mary's greatest sources of pride and joy, were her children, grandchildren, and husband, Troy.
Mary will forever be remembered for her giving heart and spunky spirit, and for always wanting to share with her family and friends.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her twin sister, Martha, on December 25, 1963.
