Obituary for Randy Lawson

Randy  Lawson
Mr. Randy Lawson of Shenandoah, Texas, formerly of North Little Rock, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born January 22, 1952, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Rufus and Alberta (Sullins) Lawson.

Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by one brother, William Lynn “Bill” Lawson; one sister, Jean Poole; and his parents.

Randy was a high school graduate of McCrory High School. After graduating he pursued higher education at Harding University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. With a remarkable career spanning over 40 years, Randy made a significant impact during his tenure at the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services. Outside of his professional life, Randy was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, where his faith was an integral part of his character. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for exploring the world. Traveling was one of his greatest passions. In the realm of sports, Randy proudly supported the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a former secretary, president, and sponsor of the Alpha Omega Men’s Social Club. Randy was also a member of the SERTOMA Club of North Little Rock.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and service. His impact on the lives of others will continue to resonate within the community he served for so many years. Randy will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will forever inspire us to continue his legacy of kindness and selflessness.

Randy is survived by one nephew, William Lynn Lawson and wife, Rosa, of Shenandoah, Texas; one great niece, Brenda Lawson of The Woodlands, Texas; one great nephew, Bryan Lawson of Shenandoah, Texas; and a lifetime of friends.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27th at Sullins Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, May 26th from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
