Obituary for Raymond Lody

Raymond Lody
Raymond Dean Lody, 92, of Conway, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020. He was born December 21, 1928 in Bradford, Arkansas, the son of Herman and Vera Lody.
Dean served in the Army 15th Infantry Regiment on the front lines in Korea. His service was cut short for medical reasons and despite asking to continue serving, he was not allowed to remain in the military due to the seriousness of his illness. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he attended Draughon School of Business in Little Rock through the GI Bill. Thereafter, he worked as a clerk in the office of Arkansas Traveler Boat Company in Little Rock for several years. Later, he drove a truck over the road for Chandler Trailer Convoy mainly delivering house trailers and boats across the United States. His job took him to every state in the lower 48. After that, he drove a city bus in Little Rock for twenty-five years until retirement. His favorite activity was driving and seeing the country, but he enjoyed planting gardens and raising vegetables almost as much.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marcus Lody; one brother, J.D. Lody; and one sister, Auneen Ironside.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Juanita Lody; one son, Wesley Lody (Debra), one daughter, Cathy Callahan (Douglas), one sister, Anna Faye McAdams; and two brothers, Charles Lody and Gerald Wayne Lody (Cecilia).
The family would like to extend special thanks to Visiting Angels of Conway and Hospice Home Care of Conway, who provided wonderful care to Dean, and continue to do so for Juanita. Their loving support of our family is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to our neighbors, who made him feel so welcome when he moved to Conway.
Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31st , at Maple Springs Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required for all funeral services.
